Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including appliance repair, painting, plastering, and light plumbing and electrical work
- Maintain the cleanliness and condition of common areas and prepare vacant suites for new residents (turnovers, touch-ups, repairs)
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests and concerns
- Conduct regular inspections of the property, including building systems and grounds, identifying issues before they escalate
- Complete general repairs related to multi-family residential maintenance
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors when specialized repairs are required
- Ensure life safety systems, fire regulations, and building standards are consistently met
- Deliver a high level of customer service and contribute to a positive, well-maintained community environment
- Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotation, as required
What You Bring:
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a practical hands-on / do-it-yourself mindset
- Proven experience in facility, commercial, or multi-family residential maintenance
- Ability to complete appliance repair, painting, plastering, and light plumbing and electrical work
- Ownership of and proficiency with your own maintenance tools required to perform the role effectively
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept environment
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills when working with residents and vendors
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize maintenance requests efficiently
- Comfort with basic technology (email, text, MS Office; Yardi experience is an asset)
- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours or emergency maintenance calls, as required
- Credit and Criminal background check required.
