is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time
Linear Infrastructure Practice Lead/Senior Project Manager
role in our
Toronto, ON
office. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience working on major water, wastewater, and storm water linear infrastructure projects and tunnel and trenchless projects, including both design and construction phase roles and will possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. We are looking for a motivated professional with a forward-thinking mindset, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Compensation:
$170,000 – 210,000+ based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Linear Infrastructure Practice Lead/Senior Project Manager Essential Functions
- Business Development – including locating major water, wastewater, and storm water linear infrastructure projects including tunnel and trenchless project leads, discussion of teaming and leveraging existing and new client relationships to secure an ongoing stream of new business to sustain and grow the business across Canada, but specifically in Toronto/GTA market.
- Manage tasks on large projects and managing projects, including writing proposals and developing work scope, fee, and schedule.
- Report project progress and troubleshooting issues arising to maintain project profitability.
- Maintain quality through the proper implementation of LJB's quality management process.
- Implement LJB health and safety practices to ensure employees are suitably trained and qualified to work on projects.
- Lead technical tasks in production of project deliverables for clients
- Independently produce technical deliverables according to client specifications.
- Independently prepare construction plans and specifications, structural/geotechnical calculations and design reports, and technical memoranda.
- Communicate technical and non-technical information in a concise, professional manner, including participation in technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Produce/support civil, geotechnical and structural engineering calculations (including numerical analysis) in support of tunnel and trenchless design including support of excavation (shafts and tunnels including connection details), and adherence to all local and national codes of practice for concrete, steel, and timber design.
- Independently prepare technical reports including technical memoranda, letters, and reports as well as geotechnical data reports (GDRs) and geotechnical baseline reports (GBRs).
- Increase LJB's visibility in the industry by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations including any identified professional association activities.
- Field based assignments will include shift work, weekday, night, and weekend work. Office based assignments will require a standard weekday business hours work schedule.

Education
LINEAR INFRASTRUCTURE PRACTICE LEAD/SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area of study required (civil, structural, geological/geotechnical, or related field). Master's degree preferred.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant project experience in the planning, design, and construction of a variety of water, wastewater, and storm water linear infrastructure; tunnel and trenchless projects.
- Professional license allowing leadership in major project pursuits a plus.
- Track record in winning new work and building trenchless business.
- Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and attention to detail.
- A thorough knowledge of relevant technical codes, operations, processes, and trends.
- Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, interact with other staff, collaborate with other disciplines, and mentor junior staff.
