Legal Assistant – Litigation



A well-known law firm located in downtown Montréal is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to support a Litigation team. This is a permanent, full-time position in a structured and supportive environment, offering a stable schedule and highly competitive working conditions.

Responsibilities:




• Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents.


• Manage deadlines, calendars, and lawyers' travel arrangements.


• Open, organize, and archive files using various platforms (Closing Folders, ShareFile, etc.).


• Transcribe dictation, audio notes, and recordings.


• Participate in billing in collaboration with the internal team.


• Communicate with clients, colleagues, external parties, and internal departments.


• Support onboarding, training, and business development activities.



Litigation-Specific Tasks:




• Finalize court documents for filing.


• Coordinate with bailiffs and court representatives.


• Monitor judicial deadlines and assist with swearing-in procedures.



What you will need to succeed:




• AEC in Legal Secretarial Studies or DEC in Office Administration (DEC in Legal Techniques is an asset).


• 2 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm.


• Knowledge of Quebec litigation procedures (Federal Court, Tax Court of Canada, Supreme Court of Canada — an asset).


• Excellent command of Microsoft Office.


• Strong judgment, autonomy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.


• Ability to anticipate needs, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.


• Bilingual in French and English to support clients in both languages.
