Journeyperson Pipefitter
Job Description
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Team Leader – Fixed Plant Maintenance and working two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati Mine site, this role will be responsible for surface pipefitting and fabrication within Fixed Plant Maintenance. Our flight hubs are located in Calgary, AB, Yellowknife, NT, and Hay River, NT.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, blurprings and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Able to scope and estimate jobs, materials, and labour requirements
- Work with pipes, fabrications, sections of piping systems, and assist with welding and allignment tasks
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and celings using hand/power tools and other equipment
- Support and assist Fixed Plant Millwrights with piping modifications and repairs
- Test systems for leaks, using testing equipment
- Coordination of work with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, mining, etc
- Ad Hoc project estimating, and providing feedback to planners with the estimates
- Experience in an industrial setting, preferably mining
- Complete shift work on both days and nights
- Comfortable with working at heigts
Education/Experience:
- Journeyperson certification in Pipefitting
- Minimum of five years of experience
- Experience in an industrial setting, perferably mining
- Preference given to dual trade JP Plumber

Additional Information:
The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
