Position Overview:
The Industrial Mechanic/Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy equipment and industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment and machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend solutions
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Operate tools and equipment safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure safe and efficient work practices
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in heavy equipment or industrial maintenance (mining, oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
- Valid drivers license
