<p>Int. Business Intelligence Analyst - GOAPRDJP </p> <p> ST<br>Edmonton</p> <p>Remote (Must be in Canada)</p> <p>Contract 6 months</p> <p>Standard Background Check<br></p> <p>Provides hands-on business intelligence support on the strategic data initiatives that are being undertaken as part of the Data Strategy. A critical responsibility is to translate data into actionable business insights that support strategic decisions by creating dashboards, reports and business KPIs. Services and project deliverables should evolve as the work progresses, in response to emerging user and business needs, as well as design and technical opportunities. Works with Manager Analytics Capability Centre to:<br></p><ul><li>Deliver business intelligence capabilities to support internal and external client needs</li><li>Develop data products based on various data sets</li><li> Analyze data and prepare results</li><li>Gather and document client requirements</li><li>Design and develop data products</li><li>Capture business and technical metadata for data products</li><li>Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining</li><li>Develop and share data models and products</li><li>Develop baseline and ongoing outcomes, key results, metrics, and other indicators.</li><li>Apply skills to provide insights, support decision-making and facilitate strategic business planning</li><li> Integrate both quantitative and qualitative data to create business insights</li><li>Design and create dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs</li><li> Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate</li><li>Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment</li></ul> <p>Must-Haves:</p><ul><li>Direct hands-on experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions and communicating findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver end to end BI solutions - 5 years</li><li>Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting - 5 years</li><li>Direct hands-on experience with a comprehensive set of visualization techniques and features that demonstrate both technical depth and storytelling skill using Power Bi - 5 years</li><li>Experience developing complex measures, calculated columns, advanced time intelligence using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI - 5 years</li><li>Direct hands-on experience in analyzing large complex datasets to perform trend analysis, predictive analytics, and forecasting using Power BI and Azure analytics tools - 5 years</li><li>Experience in presenting and storytelling to effectively communicate data-driven insights to executives and business users within a government organization - 5 years</li><li>Experience understanding and developing requirements for analytical projects - 5 years</li><li>Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be considered</li></ul> <p>Nice-to-Have's:</p><ul><li>Direct experience building data products in the Government of Alberta cloud environment - 2 years</li><li>Experience combining raw data from a variety of data sources within and across domains - 5 years</li><li>Experience dealing with clients and explaining complex data principles in a thoughtful manner - 5 years</li><li>Direct hands-on experience in SQL for data transformations, querying, and analytical processing in large scale environments - 3 years</li><li>Experience preparing visualizations, dashboards, and analytical models - 5 years</li><li>Experience working with large government datasets - 3 years</li></ul>
