Your Opportunity:St. Michael's Health Centre in Lethbridge is recruiting a Casual Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to support our Complex Mental Health program and other units within the site dealing with complex mental health history in combination with dementia. The role focuses on developing, delivering, and strengthening orientation and educational initiatives, while providing guidance and coaching to staff. Responsibilities include assessing and enhancing clinical skills and knowledge. The Clinical Nurse Educator also functions as a key resource for clinical staff and educators, offering consultation and direction related to patient/resident care within the scope of practice.
Description:
The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of acute inpatient psychiatry experience. Proficiency in a computerized environment, including the MS Office Suite, is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, tact, and a positive reinforcement approach, along with strong conflict resolution abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Applicants must be self-motivated, self-directed, and capable of implementing effective solutions, supported by strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A certificate in adult education is preferred.
