In this role, you will help create a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for clients by assisting with household tasks, meal preparation, and daily living activities. If you take pride in helping others and enjoy bringing comfort and order to someone's home, we'd love to hear from you.

Who We're Looking For

You are someone who is dependable, compassionate, and professional, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Requirements:

  • Availability between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Reliable transportation, valid Ontario Driver's License, vehicle access, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform light physical work (bending, pushing, kneeling, climbing stairs, etc.)
  • Comfortable working in environments with potential allergens (pets, smoke, dust)

What You'll Do

Light Housekeeping:

  • Clean sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and showers
  • Wash, dry, and store dishes
  • Dust and vacuum living areas
  • Dispose of garbage, recycling, and compost properly
  • Organize cupboards, drawers, and storage areas as directed
  • Wipe and clean large appliances (stove tops, ovens, fridges) and remove expired items

Meal Preparation:

  • Plan and prepare simple, nutritious meals with clients
  • Warm and serve food
  • Assist with online grocery ordering or light shopping
  • Prepare light meals (e.g., chopping vegetables, making sandwiches, reheating leftovers)

Laundry and Linens:

  • Wash, dry, fold, and store laundry
  • Change bed linens and make beds

What You Bring to the Role

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or working with seniors
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Chest X-ray or Negative 2-Step TB Test (within 2 years)
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and follow directions
  • Basic cooking and cleaning knowledge
  • Commitment to confidentiality and client dignity
