Summary:
Under the direction of the General Foreman, the Acting Team Lead is responsible for the efficient output, production, and safety of the mine operations team. The incumbent must conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision, and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
Key Focuses:
- Train, supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the workers
- Ability to provide input and implement policies and procedures
- Resolve workplace issues and recommend improvements to the Site Manager
- Prepare various reports (i.e. production reports, LEM’s)
- Strong record keeping and reporting skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, plan ahead, set and reset priorities and meet deadlines
- Must be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay
- Ability to minimize and resolve workplace conflict
- Ability to conduct electronic Performance Evaluations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills
- Responsible and Accountable for enforcing the company and client policy and procedures
- Respond to and rectify safety related concerns
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current training in behavior based HSE principles, Leadership, Mine Planning and Scheduling considered an asset
- Minimum of one (1) year in supervisory/leadership capacity in the Mining Industry
- ACSA and AMSA certification is an asset
- Heavy Hauler, Excavator, Dozer, Loader and Grader experience is considered an asset
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office and basic computer knowledge
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This is a position located on the Canadian Natural site, north of Fort McMurray, AB.
** Please Note - This position will be added as a 2nd rate of pay when duties and back fill is required to meet the company needs.
