Title: Grants Accountant
Location: Trenton, NJ (Hybrid)
Pay: $35 – $40 an hour
A highly reputable organization is looking for a Grants Accountant to join their team! This role includes a large range of duties including but not limited to, indirect cost, effort reporting, NSF compliance knowledge, and much more!
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the general ledger and grants management module for restricted funds to ensure correct balances and activity within funds. Key responsibilities include:

Preparing or approving entries in the general ledger.

Providing timely and accurate regulatory reporting, miscellaneous schedules, and other filings throughout the fiscal year.

Collaborating with team members to recommend improvements to departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls, and ensuring proper documentation.

Providing Financial Aid with data for FAFSA, compiling data for NACUBO endowment survey, and compiling SEFA/SESA for annual audits on all grants.

Reconciling FWS for government funding of the program and managing all grants, student loans, federal programs, and drawdown funds through the federal G5 online system.

Collaborating with Financial Aid on annual FISAP reporting.

Assisting in creating new grants in the general ledger.

Attending meetings to support principal investigators in grant proposals, awards, and required reporting in compliance with regulatory agencies and company policy.

Ensuring grants further the company’s purpose, including time and effort reports, payroll allocation reviews, expense reviews, and processing refunds as needed.

Performing detailed analysis of grant transactions to ensure funds are being drawn or invoiced correctly.

Preparing cost analysis of company expenses for indirect cost allocation for grants and leading audits of these costs.

Assisting with new fund code requests for new endowments, grants, and annuities.

Creating new reporting functionality to enhance timely reports for all interested parties.

Participating in system testing.

Reviewing and approving all expenses related to restricted funds and updating the budget for restricted funds accordingly.

Preparing ad hoc reports as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree strongly preffered
o Experience in grant accounting
o Experience with G5, Research.Gov, SAM.Gov, FSD.Gov, and other State and Federal reporting portals.
