<p><b>Geophysical Systems Engineer - Airborne Geophysical Systems (VTEM / ZTEM / Mag / Spec / Gravity)</b></p><p><br></p><p> <b>Aurora, Ontario</b> <b>Full-Time, On-Site</b> <b>$70,000-$80,000 CAD/year</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Geotech Ltd.</b> () is a global leader in airborne geophysical exploration, specializing in advanced electromagnetic, magnetic, radiometric, and gravity systems.</p><p>We're looking for a <b>Technical Support Engineer</b> to join our engineering and field operations team in Aurora, Ontario.</p><p>This role offers a unique blend of <b>electronics, instrumentation, and applied geophysics</b>, supporting Geotech's industry-leading airborne systems, including <b>VTEM</b>, <b>ZTEM (AFMAG)</b>, <b>Magnetics</b>, <b>Spectrometer</b>, and <b>Gravity</b> platforms.</p><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and adaptable-comfortable troubleshooting electronics on the bench, assisting field crews in remote locations, and reviewing geophysical data to identify equipment-related issues.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Assemble, inspect, test, and calibrate system components (PCBs, consoles, sensors, cables, power modules, IMUs, etc.).</li><li>Perform bench and flight testing of airborne EM and magnetic/gravity/spectrometer systems.</li><li>Monitor and analyze survey data to verify system performance, identify noise sources, and distinguish between equipment malfunctions and natural signals.</li><li>Provide <b>remote and on-site technical support</b> to field crews, including troubleshooting and system repair.</li><li>Maintain system inventory, prepare equipment for shipment, and document system configurations.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers and geophysicists on <b>system upgrades, prototype validation</b>, and <b>data quality improvements</b>.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications & Skills</b></p><ul><li>Diploma or degree in <b>Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Geophysics</b>.</li><li>Strong knowledge of <b>electromagnetic theory</b> (time- and frequency-domain) and its application to airborne systems.</li><li>Familiarity with <b>magnetometer, AFMAG, spectrometer, and gravity instrumentation</b>.</li><li>Analytical skills for interpreting <b>geophysical data</b> in support of system diagnostics.</li><li>Hands-on experience in <b>electronics assembly, soldering, wiring</b>, and use of test instruments (oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter).</li><li>Ability to read and interpret <b>schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams</b>.</li><li>Familiarity with <b>Geosoft Oasis Montaj</b> software.</li><li><b>Self-motivated</b>, organized, and an effective communicator.</li><li>Willing and able to <b>travel domestically and internationally</b> on short notice.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Preferred Assets</b></p><ul><li>Experience with <b>airborne or ground geophysical systems</b> (EM, Mag, Gravity, or Spectrometer).</li><li>Familiarity with <b>Linux, PC104 systems, microcontrollers</b>, or <b>C/C++ programming</b>.</li><li>Experience with <b>calibration, noise testing, and data correlation</b> techniques.</li><li>Proven ability to work <b>independently in field environments</b> with minimal supervision.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Why Join Geotech</b></p><ul><li>Competitive salary: <b>$70,000-$80,000 CAD per year</b>, based on experience</li><li><b>Comprehensive health and dental benefits</b></li><li><b>International travel</b> supporting industry-leading airborne systems</li><li>Be part of a <b>global team</b> at the forefront of airborne geophysical innovation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Interested?</b></p><p>Apply directly via LinkedIn or submit your resume and cover letter to .</p>Create Your Resume First
