General Labourer

Job Description

Penfor Construction offers "turn-key" General Contracting for the construction of multi-family commercial and agricultural facilities. Our team will design, estimate and oversee complete construction, ensuring that the project is completed on time and on budget.

We are currently looking for a full-time General Labourer to join our team. This position will work at various locations throughout Winnipeg.

As the successful candidate your duties would include:

  • Operation of construction equipment and machinery including telehandlers, and skid steers
  • Handling and transporting construction materials by hand and/or use of equipment
  • Unloading, sorting and properly storing Penfor material deliveries to site
  • Assisting in the setup of temporary structures on site
  • Installing temporary railings, light strings, etc.
  • Maintaining sump pumps on site
  • Setting up, maintaining, and reconfiguring temporary heating systems
  • Demolition of walls in existing buildings; miscellaneous framing as needed
  • Maintaining cleanliness of construction site and ensuring a safe work environment

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Construction Laborer
  • Previous experience with required hand and power tools
  • 3 years previous experience in operating telehandler equipment on construction sites is required
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to perform physical labor
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
