<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: 24.40<br /><p>ABOUT US</p><p>Since 1954, CCI Ottawa has been dedicated to cultivating a vibrant and inclusive city where immigrants and refugees are supported, connected, and empowered. We are a full service settlement agency with multiple departments that offer a wide range of programs and services. Using a client-centred approach, we offer targeted case management. We do needs assessments, support with official documents and paperwork, information and orientation sessions, crisis counselling, housing assistance, translation, language classes, and help navigating public services and agencies such as healthcare, the CRA, Service Ontario, and many others. In addition we offer programs that help newcomers become socially and economically connected, whether through sports, recreation, cultural activities, or job search and networking support. CCI also offers these services in a youth specific context. Finally, CCI Ottawa operates 4 Transitional Housing Sites. Each site provides shelter, food, and wrap around services to support clients as they move into permanent accommodations.</p><p><br /></p><p>POSITION SUMMARY<br />The Food Server will play a vital role in ensuring that residents of the transitional housing receive meals in a respectful, clean, and supportive dining environment. This role involves serving meals, maintaining sanitation standards, preparing some food items, such as salads, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for residents.<br />This position reports to: Program <span >Manager/Coordinator</span> Employment status: Full-time, until March 31, 2026 Hourly rate: $24.40 Deadline date to apply: December 1, 2025 at 5 pm<br />Open to: Internal/External candidates<br />Location: 1754 St Joseph Blvd</p><p><br />RESPONSIBILITIES<br />Serve meals to residents in a timely, courteous, and respectful manner.<br />Ensure portion control and dietary guidelines are followed as directed.<br />Set up and replenish serving stations and supplies as needed.<br />Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas, including dining room, kitchen, and serving line.<br />Assist delivery drivers in unloading food, supplies, and equipment into the kitchen or storage area.<br />Collect and dispose of food waste and trash in a timely manner.<br />Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures.<br />Assist with set-up and breakdown of dining area before and after meal service.<br />Communicate any supply shortages, maintenance needs, or incidents to supervisor promptly.</p><p> Preparing some food items, such as salads,<br />Perform other related duties as assigned.</p><p><br />QUALIFICATIONS<br />(Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills)<br />Completion of secondary school required. College certificate in cooking or related field preferred.<br />Minimum 1 year of experience working in an institutional or commercial kitchen.<br />Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service.<br />Food Handling certificate is required.<br />Experience meeting diverse dietary and nutritional needs.<br />Ability to function in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse workplace.<br />Good organizational skills and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.<br />Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
