Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will be a trusted partner to the Director of Finance, and other members of the Trilogy Finance team. This role will be responsible for the execution and analysis of Trilogy’s finance activities, including the financial planning and analysis, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, tax, treasury, lending, and internal audit functions. The right candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive, and able to build constructive and positive relationships across the organization. The Accounting Manager will be a valued member of the finance team who will work with the Director of Finance to execute and manage key accounting functions within the business.



The Accounting Manager will be tasked with executing the financial management strategy needed to support and accelerate the Company’s short and long-term goals, and over time will help to build a best-in-class financial reporting and accounting function. The Accounting Manager will be expected to provide business and operational analyses, accounting execution, and help the Director of Finance with outlining key insights relevant to the senior management team. Key responsibilities include executing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes of financial statements & G/L analyses, conduct financial analyses to identify trends and variances in the financials, ensure compliance with government reporting, tax filings, and regulatory standards, and complete ad hoc reporting and analysis for the Director of Finance and/or other members of the leadership team.



Yearly Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000


Essential Duties / Responsibilities


  • Maintain GAAP Requirements: Establish internal controls and guidelines and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial reporting and transactions.
  • Perform Internal Audits: Accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Day-to-Day Financial Operations: Take a hands-on approach to manage daily accounting functions and operations.
  • Oversee the General Ledger: Maintain and oversee the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Execute and Manage Closing Processes: Oversee the production of periodic financial reports such as month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including performing reconciliations and necessary adjustments in a timely manner. Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, shareholder reports, tax returns, and manage accounting and financial consolidation activities.
  • Journal Entries: Review journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify Process Improvement Opportunities: Continuously seek and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supervise and Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering their professional growth and development. Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with leadership to align financial operations with organizational goals and provide insights for decision-making including ad hoc requests from leadership from time to time.
  • M&A Integration: Ensure accurate and timely integration of all finance and accounting processes for acquired businesses.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Possession of a professional accounting designation (CPA or CA).
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proven experience in accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger management and financial closing processes.
  • Proficient knowledge in enterprise software tools (NetSuite preferred)
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries.

Skills Requirements


  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team supervision and mentorship.
  • Clear and effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management.
  • Experience in Wealth Management industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Financial audit experience is preferred, but not required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position requires prolonged periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. The position and duties must be performed in the branch office. If performing work in a remote location, all compliance and office safety requirements apply.
