POSITION FUNCTION

Participate in and assist with the coordination of City recreation and cultural event ticketing, concessions, cash management and events operation.

KEY DUTIES

Assist in estimating staff levels and stock requirements for upcoming events; make recommendations on pricing, menu, equipment purchases and services; check condition of concessions and lounge facilities, order food and beverage arrange for maintenance or repair as required; distribute beverage and food supplies as required; monitor event operation and assist user groups when they require information or instruction regarding facility services and equipment; provide administrative and customer service support in the delivery of special events and programs.

Prepare and monitor cash floats and registers; collect and balance cash from customer admissions and at the end of events; prepare cash sheets, bank deposits and cheque requisitions; prepare journal entries for special event charges; prepare reconciliations, inventory, and event reports such as event data and facility tracking for future planning.

Work with equipment service providers to update programs, correct errors and malfunctions relating to cash register, POS system and readerboard.

Provide instructions and information to staff as required; assist in scheduling service area staff and outside contractors, such as security, maintenance, pest control; perform payroll time entry for staff; respond to general enquiries from the public and other departments by providing general information regarding the facility services and operation.

Perform other related duties where qualified.

INDEPENDENCE

Work is performed according to event schedules and is reviewed by supervisor.

Problems such as staff levels or stock requirements are referred to supervisor.

Working level operation of current City word processing, spreadsheet and related specialty software.

Work safely.

Qualifications

Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:

High school graduation.

Food Safe certification Level II. (2 days)

Responsible Beverage Service Program. (10 hours)

Current Class 5 B.C. Drivers' License.

Required to obtain criminal record clearance.

Experience

1 year of related experience.

or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other

May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
