This position is responsible for leading all aspects of the event center operation, establishing strategic vision for the department, and providing support throughout the event lifecycle regarding the Dayton Dragons brand. This role must be able to drive sales and provide exceptional service for events held at the ballpark in the event center and other unique spaces at the facility.

The ideal candidate will excel in meeting sales goals, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless communication with our team to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests. This role requires a strategic, results-driven leader who can identify and cultivate new business opportunities, develop client relationships, and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote, plan, and coordinate events and catering services for the event center, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences
  • Drive sales through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building with corporate clients, social event planners, and the local community
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue goals
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, serving as clients’ primary point of contact
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate events from start to finish
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all event requirements are met
  • Manage event budgets and expenses
  • Oversee event setup including decorations, seating arrangements, and audiovisual equipment
  • Communicate event details and updates to all stakeholders
  • Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during events
  • Develop and deliver department relevant training curriculum for support/PT staff
  • Accurately maintain time and attendance records as well as generate reports as needed for events to include payroll, incident reports, and any other assigned administrative duties
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources department, address employee relations issues through coaching/counseling sessions and maintain detailed documentation of infractions
  • Participate in meetings as the need arises to facilitate duties of position/support other departments
  • Have a full and complete understanding of the technology required to perform duties
  • Constantly learn and recommend new ways for technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of work
  • Participate in training & continuing education and attend professional conferences as needed to maintain current with needs of position
  • Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma required
  • College or technical school preferred but not required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in venue management including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience highly preferred
  • A proven track record in sales and event management within the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Passion for creating memorable event experiences
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing P&L statements
  • High-energy, goal-oriented, and excellent at building client relationships
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment
