LOCATION: Etobicoke, ON; North York, ON (Hartsdale and McNicoll sites) 

POSITION TYPE: Full-time Regular (37.5 hours/week) 

POSTING CLOSING DATE:  Open until filled

SALARY RANGE:  $82,774 - $91,370 commensurate with experience

The Entry to School program is a six-month, group-based, skill-building program focused on helping children develop school-readiness skills in a classroom setting.  Each classroom will be operated by a multi-disciplinary team of Classroom Facilitators who will report into a Clinical Supervisor.   

 

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Supervisor in the Entry to School program supervises the full entry to school team and provides training, support and leadership for the entry to school staff team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support intake process and advises on appropriate placement of children in classrooms
  • Supports the development of service plans for individual children
  • Approves service plans for individual children
  • Creates processes to ensure consistency across classrooms
  • Leads the program planning process
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of a multi-disciplinary team and delivery of the Entry to School Program to include:
    • Coaching, training, and evaluation of staff
    • Scheduling
    • Oversees day to day operations of program
    • Conducts performance appraisals 
    • Identify staffing needs and/or gaps
    • Participates in the recruitment, on-boarding, staff orientation and communicating performance expectations for new staff
    • Ensures staff adhere to agencies policies, procedures and practices
    • Ensures the health, safety and wellness of staff
  • Facilitate resolutions involving clients, families and staff using a solution-focused approach
  • Communicates with parents/caregivers and provides updates on student progress as required
  • Carries out relevant administrative functions in support of program delivery
  • Monitors service targets, flags program director/manager of any potential issues
  • Manages program supply budgets
  • Leads staff meetings
  • Attends external partnership meetings as required
  • Data analysis CPI and First Aid/CPI Training preferred

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree in behavioural science or psychology 
  • 5 years of experience in direct clinical intervention with children and families and;
  • Experience supervising employees an asset
  • BCBA, R.B.A (Ont.) or equivalent
  • CPI and First Aid/CPI Training preferred
  • A thorough understanding of principles and conceptual issues of ABA
  • A thorough knowledge of autism spectrum and the clinical applications, mental health theories, adult education, family systems theory, child and family act, along with management theories and practices 
  • Experience supervising employees 
  • Knowledge of human resource management and effective labour relations is essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as a leader
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and data management systems
  • Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check

  • Able to bend, stoop and lift child to adult height (up to 20 kg) and to move children’s furniture or equipment to prepare room for programming needs
