The Opportunity
Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team and lead the successful delivery of high-profile electrical projects across the Greater Toronto Area. This is an opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals, manage premier projects, and make a significant impact with a company known for setting the standard in electrical contracting.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, general contractors, and other stakeholders
- Manage client expectations and proactively address concerns to ensure project satisfaction
Financial & Cost Management
- Prepare, review, and submit price change notices and estimate change notices in a timely and accurate manner
- Develop and maintain detailed cost forecasts throughout project duration
- Monitor project budgets, track costs against estimates, and identify potential cost variances
- Implement cost control measures to protect project margins
- Review and approve project expenditures and subcontractor payments
Project Execution & Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of electrical project delivery from award to closeout
- Manage project schedules, resources, and logistics to ensure on-time completion
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and field teams to ensure efficient execution
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Lead project meetings and provide clear direction to all team members
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients
- Ensure all project closeout documentation is complete and accurate.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in the electrical contracting industry
- Proven track record managing projects from $1M to $10M+ in value
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and building codes
- Demonstrated expertise in cost management, including change order management and cost forecasting
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
