Electrical Engineer

Peterborough, Ontario

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as an Electrical Engineer within the Naval Defense organization based in Peterborough, ON.

This is a high-profile role that will give you direct exposure to a diverse portfolio of Naval Handling Equipment programs. The Electrical/Control System Engineer shall specify, design and validate complex sub-systems, including high-level requirements for the software and / or hardware system components and liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical design.

Key Accountabilities

Analyses and translates high level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirements
Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical design
Designs and implements electrical designs to meet requirements including their testability
Install programs, supports system integration and troubleshooting at the facility, at third party test houses, and in the field

Qualifications

A recognized electrical engineering degree and license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P. Eng.
Work experience of 3 - 5 years, preferably in the electrical field
Proficiency in English with a high level of verbal and written communication skills
Experience with industrial control systems (PLC, HMI), and CAD software would be advantageous
Must be Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada for greater than 5 years
