The Role
We are partnering with a highly regarded downtown Toronto law firm known for its expertise in complex litigation matters, including construction and multi-party disputes. With a strong reputation for delivering strategic and results-driven legal solutions, the firm is recognized for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and commitment to client service.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced eDiscovery Law Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong technical eDiscovery experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with a team of Lawyers and Paralegals and will play a key role in managing complex litigation files from document collection through trial preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lawyers with all aspects of document collection, processing, review, and production
  • Organize and manage complex, multi-party construction and litigation files
  • Coordinate, review, and interpret evidence and witness testimony
  • Review documents and prepare detailed chronologies
  • Draft lists of documents, pleadings, and legal correspondence
  • Coordinate examinations for discovery and trial scheduling
  • Prepare court applications and related filings
  • Conduct title searches and other legal research as required
  • Utilize litigation support and eDiscovery software
  • Support matters through mediation, arbitration, and litigation
  • Review transcripts and prepare undertaking charts
  • Prepare cost outlines and bills of costs

Requirements

  • Completion of a Law Clerk program from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • 3–5+ years of Law Clerk experience, ideally in construction or general litigation
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, Class Proceedings, and the eDiscovery process
  • Advanced proficiency with eDiscovery software (Must have)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and litigation support systems
  • Exceptional ability to manage complex, high-volume document files
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Strong technical aptitude with legal document management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with a professional, client-focused approach
