Position Overview



Performs variety of material distribution functions that may include processing incoming/outcoming materials, picking and filling orders, storing material in the proper location, communicating efficiently with different departments, inventory counting, controlling inventory operational levels for the MHC inventory in a cost effective and efficient manner.



Experience

  • Familiar with the use of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and databases, procedures and practices.
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and method preferred.
  • Six (6) months experience in distribution of medical/surgical items in a health care environment.
  • Experience in maintaining computerized warehouse/distribution centre preferably in a health care environment.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12.
  • Knowledge of the English language consistent with the demands of the position.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word) and able to prove same.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly life and/or move objects up to 20 kg utilizing knowledge and applicable body mechanics.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
