As a result of our growing business, we are looking for a talented, dedicated, and enthusiastic Human Resources Leader to join our team.
The Role
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for the development and implementation of best-in-class HR policies, practices and processes in support of up to 500 head office and field personnel photographing well over 1 million subjects each year. The Director of HR works with other department leaders in delivering the revenue and profit targets, serving as a strategic business partner to all departments, the SLT and the CEO.
The successful candidate will combine expertise in HR regulations and practices as well as general business acumen to contribute to the company's financial targets. Combining innovation, insights, project management and execution in support of a business with strong seasonal volume, the successful candidate will bring a strong sense of the company values of Fun, Accountability, Creativity and Teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Participate and engage in the overall strategic initiatives and business management and oversight of the companyPlan, direct, and oversee all human resources programs including recruitment, total rewards, training & development, employee relations, health and safety, risk management, and other HR initiatives that align with the overall business strategiesManage staff operations, business planning and budget development of HR programsOversee a performance appraisal system that promotes and delivers high performanceEnsure a strong employee value proposition that supports recruitment and retentionDesign and execute plans, policies and procedures that will help Edge continue to be an industry-leading employer of choice Ensure that all human resources initiatives align with the core corporate values and ultimately have a positive influence on Edge's positive corporate cultureDevelop and maintain human resources metrics that tie into the overall company metrics and goalsServe as a vital member of the job evaluation committee, participating in job evaluations, determining classifications, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with applicable legislation and internal policyAct as JHSC member and provide direction to the committeeCollaborate with Finance, Sales, IT, Marketing, Operations, and Product Management teams to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives, campaign execution, and resource allocation
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, or a related fieldCHRP Designation Required (CHRL is considered an asset)5-7 years of experience in an HR Director capacity or similar role successfully leading strategic HR projects and programs Experience working in fast paced, high growth, seasonal company Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders and employees at all levels of the organization regarding HR strategies and issues Effective leadership, relationship management and negotiation capabilities Strong knowledge of provincial employment legislation across Edge's operations to ensure ongoing legislative compliance Knowledge of HR best practicesExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suiteADP Experience is considered an assetAs part of the employment criteria, successful candidate must meet company criminal background check requirements Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
