The Winter/Spring Music Publishing & Copyright Administration intern will be responsible for assisting with the monetization of our clients’ music copyrights via digital streaming services such as Youtube, Spotify and Pandora. The intern will be responsible for filing copyright claims with streaming services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple and royalty administration agencies such as SoundExchange and The MLC.
This is an exceptional, hands-on opportunity to learn about the music publishing industry in particular.
In this role, the individual will be required to maintain attention to detail while performing administrative tasks.The intern must be a self-starter capable of following instructions and engaging in continuous communication with staff members. The ideal intern candidate must possess a high degree of patience and willingness to learn. CANDIDATES SHOULD BE BASED IN THE BAY AREA TO PERFORM THE INTERNSHIP. The intern MUST be available a minimum of 15 hours per week (with at least one to two days per week in-person, and other days working remotely), and MUST be fully vaccinated.
Candidates must be familiar with digital/online radio services such as Spotify and YouTube, and should possess a keen interest in music publishing.
Candidates must be well organized and intimately familiar with Excel, Word and use of the Gmail and YouTube platforms. Spanish fluency is a plus, but is not a requirement.
This internship is ideal for college students seeking academic credit. Please do not apply for this internship UNLESS you are presently enrolled in college and are based in the BAY AREA. The internship must be performed for academic credit; the intern shall receive a stipend of $250/month to cover meal and transportation costs.
Note: While this is a music industry internship, please note that the role will not involve social media, marketing, attending concerts or meeting artists.
All work will be conducted in an administrative capacity.
