We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Pacific, MO. This job is offering $28-$34/hr depending on experience.
Our Diesel Technicians generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major components or remove/replace major components of various truck and trailer equipment.
- Maintain and Repair : Perform maintenance on diesel engines including, commercial vehicles, tractor-trailers, and heavy equipment and conduct DOT inspections
- Inspect and Replace Parts : Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts such as bearings, pistons, and gears.
- Overhaul Systems : Overhaul and test major components including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Manage Parts : Order parts, provide status updates, and document corrective actions efficiently.
- Ensure Safety : Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing safety and professionalism.
- Adapt and Assist : Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for our Diesel Technician positions:
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license and have personal tools (specialty tools provided).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- DOT Inspections, diesel engine maintenance
- Qualified to do DOT inspections and have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and equipment, commercial vehicles, tractor-trailers and/or heavy equipment machines
- At least 2 years of experience with diagnostic experience: diesel emissions aftertreatment systems, electrical, air conditioning, powertrain
- Experience as a diesel engine mechanic with commercial vehicles, tractor-trailers, and heavy equipment
- Electrical diagnostic experience, air conditioning diagnostic experience, powertrain diagnostic experience, welding experience, PTO hydraulic systems and live walking floor trailers
- Experience with Kenworth, Peterbilt, Ford and Sterling brand commercial vehicles
- 2 years of experience with stick welding & wire welding
- Brakes & air conditioning certifications
