What you will do
- Support the technical implementations (design, build, test, deploy and support) of Data Access Management products in close collaboration with the Director of Data Access Management and team members.
- Work with leaders and other technology teams to help achieve program milestones.
- Assume ownership of specific modules/functionalities and sustain the Data Access Management services to support Canada Life needs.
- Assist in the hands‑on implementation of data discovery, classification, access, monitoring, governance tools, remediation and business process realization for enterprise data.
- Integrate with other solutions such as Data Catalog, Data Marketplace, Data Lake, SSO (Active Directory), Privileged Management tools, SIEM, DLP, ticketing, etc.
- Design, implement and maintain Data Access control frameworks (RBAC, ABAC, PBAC) in conjunction with data classification and sensitivity.
- Participate in Data Access Management Lifecycle activities (identification, certification, remediation, analytics & reporting) and implement use cases.
- Support data source identification, data mapping, functional and detailed design, and guide the team in implementation.
- Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in Data Access issues and requests, providing deeper insights.
- Prepare regular updates for stakeholders on proposed solutions, timelines, progress and issues.
- Participate in testing activities to ensure proper tool integrations.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in Data Access Governance.
- At least three years of hands‑on implementation in Data Access Governance programs; experience in the financial industry is a plus.
- Proven experience in data management focusing on Data Access control solutions.
- Strong understanding of integration tools and platforms that support Data Access Management solutions.
- Knowledge of Data Cataloging, Data Marketplace, Data Management tools (including Cloud Data Governance & Catalog, Cloud Data Marketplace, Cloud Data Integration) and Data Access Remediation.
- Good understanding of different data sources, data structures, and analytical solution structures.
- Comprehension of data protection, privacy laws and regulations.
- Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, quantify and raise business risks associated with data access.
- Excellent relationship skills and ability to collaborate across practices and teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
The base salary for this position is between $70,500.00 and $117,400.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not include additional variable compensation components.
