- Work Schedule: 20-40 hours per week (shifts will vary based on Operations)

- Competitive Pay: 20-21$/hour

- Job is for the cafe retail outlet, small team, scratch cooking (as far as I know) and some of catering.

- Role report to Chef

What You'll Do 

This isn’t your typical job. Whether you’re serving great food, supporting patient nutrition, maintaining clean and safe environments, or keeping hospital operations running smoothly, your work makes a real difference. You’ll be part of a team that supports every corner of the healthcare experience - enhancing the well-being of patients, families, staff, and the wider community every day. 

As a cook, you will: 

  • You will be responsible for preparing our excellent meal offering for the residents of the long-term care facility and/or patients of the hospital
  • Recipes are standardized due to patient nutritional needs
  • General food preparation, cooking, serving as well as other duties as assigned
  • Follow all Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, policies and Recipes
Qualifications

What You Bring 

  • A team-first attitude and strong communication skills 

  • Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods) 

  • Commitment to safety, respect, and inclusion 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role (high volume is an asset)
  • Formal cook training and/or Red Seal is an asset
  • Current Foodsafe Level 1 and 2 (within last 5 years)
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; ability to perform simple calculations and read/follow instructions
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to work together with other members of the team
  • Adherence to food safety and health and safety standards 
  • Familiarity with dysphagia / texture modified foods an asset.
