Site Superintendent
Our projects are often complex and multi-faceted. As a Site Superintendent with IMC, you will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Vice President to ensure our projects are delivered safely, profitably and on time. The Superintendent is the front-line steward of our efforts on each site and must be capable of completing the project in a quality, budget responsible manner, on time or ahead of schedule. It is important as a company, we service the owner at a level equal to or beyond the owner’s expectations for us to maintain our position and reputation in the marketplace. The Superintendent and Project Manager’s performance and service will be the lasting impression left with the client. Their performance and service should result in the client becoming a repeat client and our best salesman!
Responsibilities
- Proactively plan, schedule and manage construction projects and crew.
- Drive progress to meet or improve project milestones and performance.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and contractor agreements.
- Engage and apply policies and procedures for quality control and safety, including planning and inspections
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- enforce the OHSA and IMC’s Health & Safety Policy Manual.
- Establish schedules being proactive always.
- Motivate, lead and work with various team players, including the client, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors, trades people, field employees, suppliers, and all fellow employees.
- Maintain daily construction records and logs.

Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of Site Superintendent experience
- Experience managing industrial, commercial and/or institutional construction projects of approximately $5M - $30M.
- Experience in construction projects with various sustainable construction initiatives.
- Completed safety training and have a good track record of safety management.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office and proficient use of Microsoft Project.
- Procore experience would be an asset.
- Experienced in electronic filing and digital communications.
Training
- Diploma in Architectural Technology an asset or C.E.T.
- Safety and technical training an asset
- Gold Seal Certified an asset (preferred)
- LEED certification an asset
- Procore certification an asset
- MOL – Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps Mandatory
Safety Training
- WHMIS
- Working at Heights
- Lift Training/Elevated Platform Training an asset
- Knowledge of Construction Regulations “The Green Book” and MOL Regulations
- First Aid, CPR, AED an asset
- Knowledge of COR Certification
- Propane Handling, Accident Investigation, Confined Space training an asset
This is a full time, permanent position based in Hamilton with project assignments typically within 80km or 1 hour of our head office. The salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience. We also offer excellent health benefits, Group RRSP, training opportunities, and a well-being allowance.
