Construction Manager

Job Description

Company Description
At Tectonica Management, our mission is to add value to development and construction processes through the rigorous, creative, and thoughtful application of our skills and experience. We are dedicated to conducting our business with accountability, honesty, and reliability. Our goal is to build lasting, trust-based relationships with our clients and foster a collaborative, respectful, and transparent work environment. Regardless of the project type, we provide tailor-made solutions that surpass expectations. From initial consultation to project completion and beyond, we partner with our clients every step of the way.

Role Description
As part of our continued and measured growth, Tectonica is inviting an experienced Construction Manager to join our team and play a leadership role in the planning and delivery of our clients' projects across Vancouver Island.

Working primarily within a Construction Manager as Agent delivery model, this position is central to the diligence, transparency, and thoughtful decision-making that define our approach. The Construction Manager is responsible for guiding projects from early concept and pre-construction through active construction and final turnover—ensuring alignment between client goals, design intent, schedule, and budget.

This role leads design coordination and pre-construction planning, including cost estimating (Class D through Class A), value engineering, procurement strategy development, and schedule creation. During construction, the Construction Manager maintains oversight of the project, supports site leadership, manages financial performance, coordinates consultants and trade partners, and ensures challenges are addressed proactively and transparently.

The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between owners, consultants, and site operations—facilitating meetings, managing stakeholder expectations, and providing clear reporting on budget and schedule performance. Strong analytical capability, contract knowledge, and technical understanding of building systems are essential.

As a medium-sized company with many team members participating as shareholders, we are seeking someone interested in contributing to our long-term growth while continuing to build strong relationships with returning and new clients. This is a leadership role suited to a professional who values collaboration, accountability, and delivering projects that positively impact the communities we serve.

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of construction project management experience delivering commercial, municipal, healthcare, institutional, or multi-residential projects. Experience on Vancouver Island is preferred.
