CNC Machinist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to produce high quality components according to engineered designs. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.


Location: Bowmanville

Shift: AFTERNOONS - Monday to Thursday 4:00 pm to 2:30 am

Range of pay is $22.32-$32.25

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to perform rough to finish machining operations in accordance with engineering blueprints and specifications.
  • Review design drawings and ensure all machining steps follow required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Recommend improvements in machining processes, tooling, or workflow to the Supervisor or Plant Manager.
  • Perform in process and final quality control checks to verify accuracy, dimensions, and compliance with specification requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve machining issues, including tooling, equipment, or material concerns.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting enhancements to procedures, efficiency, and production output.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Formal machinist training (apprenticeship, diploma, or equivalent) with hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and follow engineered drawings and technical documentation.
  • Effective communication skills with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods as required for machine operation.

Minimum of 2-5 years of experience for new hires.
