Sustained by its 65 years experience, Manitoulin developed the transportation knowledge that is relied on and trusted by clients in various industries.</p>Job Description<br><br><p>As a Class 1 Local Pick-up & Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Completing local deliveries and pick-ups within Red Deer and the surrounding area in a timely and efficient manner</li><li>Conducting thorough pre and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations</li><li>Performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any vehicle issues to the maintenance department</li><li>Accurately loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo</li><li>Operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, when necessary</li><li>Maintaining accurate and up-to-date logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery records</li><li>Assisting with dock work, including sorting, labeling, and organizing shipments</li><li>Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns or special requests</li><li>Adhering to all company policies, safety procedures, and traffic laws</li><li>Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior</li><li>Collaborating with dispatch and other team members to optimize routes and delivery schedules</li><li>Participating in ongoing safety training and professional development programs</li><li>Demonstrating flexibility in availability to accommodate occasional schedule changes or additional shifts as required</li></ul><p> </p><p>A normal work week will be Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility in availability will occasionally be required to meet business needs and customer expectations.</p>Qualifications<br><br><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of Class 1 driving experience</li><li><strong>Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly</strong></li><li>Reliable and dependable with excellent time management skills</li><li>TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification</li><li>WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification</li><li>Forklift certification (preferred)</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail</li><li>Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile devices</li><li>Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections</li><li>Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references</li></ul><br><br>Additional Information<br><br><p>What do we offer you? </p><ul><li>Competitive Wages $26.35 to start</li><li>Comprehensive Benefits Program</li><li>Profit Sharing Opportunities</li><li>Opportunities for growth and advancement</li><li><strong>We would like to thank all those expressing an interest in this<br /> position; however only the candidates selected for an interview will<br /> be contacted.</strong></li></ul></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
