About the Role

Are you looking for your next opportunity in insurance industry? MutualONE is seeking an experienced Claims Representative – Auto Physical Damage to join our claims team.

Reporting to the Manager of Claims Services, the successful candidate will be a self starter, detail-oriented problem solver with strong communication skills and a member-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigating and settling first-party automobile claims through collaboration with members, sales force, appraisers, vendors and third-party adjusters
• Analyze auto physical damage claims, including liability, salvage and subrogation exposures
• Determine scope of damage, review and evaluate estimates and appraisals
• Negotiate settlements
• Review and interpret policy wordings
• Maintain detailed file records and accurate reserves
• Process claims payments within your authority level

Desired Competencies

• Excellent time management and organizational skills with an appropriate sense of urgency and responsiveness
• Proactive and positive approach to customer service
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Experience working with body shops, appraisers, and third-party adjusters
• Familiarity with salvage, subrogation, and reinsurance practices
• High level of integrity and excellent work ethic; takes full accountability for own work
• Successful candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

Qualifications

• Post-secondary certificate or equivalent (Business or Insurance program preferred)
• CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) or progress towards same considered an asset
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience in auto physical damage claims
• Ongoing commitment to education and learning
• Highly capable with computer systems/software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Completion of a Criminal Record Check will be required
