So, if you know where you’re headed, we have the training and career development to help you get there.</p>Job Description<br><br><p>The Dispatcher role is a <strong>fast-paced, demanding position</strong> focused on planning and coordinating the pickups and deliveries for our Saskatoon service area, including surrounding rural routes. We&#39;re looking to onboard a dedicated professional to join our team and help us meet or exceed our customers&#39; expectations.</p><p>As a Dispatcher, you&#39;ll be the nerve center of our operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily flow. Your key duties will include:</p><ul><li><p><strong>Load Planning & Coordination:</strong> Planning and coordinating all terminal pickups and deliveries, including LTL load planning and city/rural route planning.</p></li><li><p><strong>Driver & Staff Supervision:</strong> Supervising <strong>City Drivers</strong> (and potentially brokers), providing direction, and delegating tasks effectively.</p></li><li><p><strong>Communication & Customer Service:</strong> Consistently answering the phone and dealing with driver requirements (e.g., hook up information, delay updates, concerns). This includes communicating effectively with internal staff and external customers.</p></li><li><p><strong>System Management:</strong> Working within the <strong>AS/400 platform</strong> to execute scheduling, track shipments for customers, and perform other necessary system tasks.</p></li><li><p><strong>Documentation & Compliance:</strong> Printing labels, adding comments to justify non-service deliveries, and ensuring proper company policy and safety guidelines are followed.</p></li><li><p><strong>Leadership & Safety:</strong> Demonstrating leadership, promoting a <strong>safety-minded</strong> culture, and assisting with <strong>appointment booking and rescheduling</strong> of priorities.</p></li><li><p><strong>Other duties as assigned.</strong></p></li></ul>Qualifications<br><br><p> </p><p>The ideal candidate will have the skills and knowledge to hit the ground running in a dynamic environment.</p><p> </p><ul><li><p><strong>Geographical Knowledge:</strong> Solid geographical knowledge of <strong>Saskatoon and surrounding rural areas</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>LTL Experience:</strong> Previous <strong>dispatch experience in an LTL environment</strong>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Route Planning Expertise:</strong> Experienced with LTL load planning and city/rural route planning.</p></li><li><p><strong>Technological Capability:</strong> Computer fluent, with the ability to understand and operate an <strong>AS/400 system</strong> and handheld devices. <strong>AS/400 experience is a strong asset; we will train the right candidate.</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Communication:</strong> Excellent <strong>phone and email communicator</strong>; polite, professional, and courteous in constant interaction with customers, drivers, and management.</p></li><li><p><strong>Work Ethic:</strong> Proven ability to <strong>multitask effectively</strong> and thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling shift work.</p></li><li><p><strong>Leadership:</strong> Demonstrated <strong>Team Leader</strong> capabilities and the ability to delegate effectively.</p></li><li><p><strong>Safety:</strong> <strong>Safety Minded</strong> and possess a <strong>knowledge of TDG</strong> (Transportation of Dangerous Goods).</p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>Previous or current <strong>Class 1 driving experience</strong> is an asset but not necessary.</p></li></ul><p> </p><br><br>Additional Information<br><br><p>We Offer:</p><ul><li>Competitive wages</li><li>Profit Sharing</li><li>Benefits, including short-term and long-term disability</li><li>And more!</li><li><strong>We would like to thank all those expressing an interest in this<br /> position; however, only the candidates selected for an interview will<br /> be contacted.</strong></li></ul></p></p>
