Part-Time Fundraiser - Contract Position (90-Day Revenue Sprint - with possible contract extension)


Organization: Established Edmonton-based nonprofit (details shared at interview stage)


Location: Edmonton (Hybrid / Remote possible-some travel within the city or to the worksite may be required for events, fundraising activities, etc.)


Time Commitment: Approximately 15 hours/week


Compensation: $1,600/month + performance-based incentives


Term: Initial 90-day contract with potential renewal

Reports to: Executive Director


ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

We are a community-based nonprofit supporting families and individuals through food security, early learning, employment support, and community resource programs. We operate in a practical, outcomes-focused environment and serve both a broader donor audience and a deeply rooted community in north east Edmonton that functions much like a small town.


ROLE OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for implementing fundraising campaigns and activities that generate net-new revenue within 30–90 days. The successful candidate will be hands-on, execution-focused, and comfortable working in an organization that operates primarily with contracted funding sources but is looking to grow unrestricted revenue through fundraising and donorship.

The role requires the ability to engage new supporters beyond the immediate community while also activating grassroots fundraising within a local community, sometimes engages more traditional fundraising channels.

This position works closely with the Executive Director to carry out the organization’s fund development plan:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Implement and manage monthly donor campaigns that engage new supporters and existing community members/supporters.

- Launch and manage one-off fundraising appeals (sponsor-based or story-driven).

- Reactivate past donors and convert warm community supporters.

- Design and implement grassroots fundraising activities appropriate to a close-knit, locally rooted community.

- Integrate fundraising into existing programs (e.g., parent-led or participant-based initiatives).

- Develop and coordinate third-party fundraising initiatives with schools, sports teams, and dance teams using food-based fundraising products (via in-house social enterprise).

- Support fundraising components of events (sponsorships, donation asks, raffles).

- Coordinate fundraising volunteers toward defined revenue targets.

- Track and report on campaign performance and funds raised


30–60–90 DAY EXPECTATIONS

First 30 days

- At least one live fundraising campaign launched

- Sponsor-based or program-linked appeal implemented

- Direct donor outreach initiated

- Weekly reporting on dollars raised

By 60 days

- Monthly donor campaign live

- At least one school, team, or group fundraiser confirmed or underway

- Evidence of donor conversion or reactivation

- Initial grassroots fundraising activity tested or launched

By 90 days

- Demonstrated revenue generation

- Repeatable campaign templates and systems established

- Clear next-phase fundraising plan informed by results, including both external and grassroots approaches


QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated experience raising funds through campaigns or direct appeals

- Experience working with community-based, or under-resourced organizations

- Comfort working within grassroots communities and adapting fundraising approaches accordingly

- Comfort with accountability to revenue outcomes

- Ability to work independently and implement quickly


COMPENSATION

- Monthly stipend of $1,600

- Additional performance-based compensation tied to funds raised (details discussed at offer stage).
