Language Bilingualism - both French and English (spoken and written)

Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an Azure Synapse Developer for our client.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility: delivering data solutions that answer business needs.
• Business analysis: evaluate and integrate multiple business and strategic needs, recommending sound and justified data solutions to help monitor timely quantitative data related to the client\'s operations and to solve business problems.
• Design: design data solutions to complex business problems, including conceptual and logical data models, static and dynamic reporting tools and programming languages; ensure needs are adequately served to maximize effectiveness and minimize obstacles.
• Data analysis: provide quantitative processes/data analysis of client-wide data and prepare documentation explaining data source, trends, comparisons and business knowledge discoveries.
• Development and testing: implement BI projects and complex data solutions, scope solutions, identify data sources and business rules, and perform integration tests for flexibility, functionality, performance, reliability and security.
• Risk assessment: anticipate risks and issues and mitigate them; oversee transition of enhancements into daily operations.
• Reporting: deliver BI reporting for executives, managers and users; oversee data quality and design efficient data solutions for insights and decision making.
• Documentation: write data dictionaries and business process documentation for validation purposes and reference.
• Project management: establish steps, milestones and timetables, estimating feasibility and time requirements.

Deliverables

• Design and develop data domains to answer business requirements.
• Program ELT processes to ingest data from source systems and external files to Azure storage.
• Clean and transform data for use in data solutions.
• Build datasets, facts and dimensions relevant to a star schema approach.
• Develop bilingual semantic models for data domains to be used in Power BI reports and as self-serve datasets.
• Define security configurations required for data domains.
• Troubleshoot and debug data solutions.
• Work with the security team to implement security measures in applicable areas.
• Prepare technical documentation for the developed solution.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge transfer documentation.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the development and implementation of system and software programs based on Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Experience with data manipulation, data analysis, analytics and reporting tools (Azure Synapse Analytics, Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, PySpark, Power BI).
• Experience in data manipulation and integrity checking for various data types to transform data for reporting and analytics.
• Knowledge and experience with Medallion Architecture (Raw, Silver and Gold layers).
• Knowledge and experience with BI concepts (semantic data modelling, star schemas), databases with SQL, REST APIs, JIRA and data formats (Parquet, Delta, JSON).
• Experience with statistical packages to analyze datasets (SQL, R, Python, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
• Experience with big data and cloud technology Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Storage accounts).
• Experience with API or service integrations and multi-source data solution implementation.
• Experience translating data into KPIs meaningful to bilingual audiences.
• Experience developing bilingual dashboards and visualizations using Power BI.
• Ability to handle conflicting work demands from multiple projects and deliverables.
• Critical thinking to translate business needs into data models and analysis.
• Ability to communicate with business users and build relationships.
• Bilingualism - both French and English (spoken and written).
