<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>The AVP, High Net Worth (HNW) Sales Effectiveness role reports to the VP, Insurance Distribution and will enhance Sun Life’s presence in the HNW market and strengthen connections with advisors to secure a higher share of their premium. The role is accountable for revamping and enhancing sales effectiveness through sales team development and advisor business management practices.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>HNW Advisor Practice Development (30%) Defining and continuously assessing Insurance Distribution’s (ID) Value Proposition to HNW advisors and firms; identifying initiatives to create efficiencies, improve processes and service, and better support growth with HNW advisors; leading the development and evolution of best practices and development programs to align with the advisor and firm strategy and grow the HNW advisor market; collaborating with the Business Growth and Insurance Solutions Enablement teams on content and material development.</li><li>Sales Team Effectiveness (40%) Owns overall skills development and training for the distribution team; executes sales skills development training; leads onboarding for new employees; oversees Ascend program management; creates and manages a distribution development program to enhance sales team capabilities in the HNW market; provides tools to support the advisors’ needs; reviews and supports development of enhanced Business & Marketing Plans; develops best practices for the sales team in the HNW market (including Franchise model; Day-to-day activities).</li><li>HNW Market Strategy (20%) Meeting with HNW advisors and firms to identify evolving needs for practice development in alignment with ID’s Value Proposition; accountable for the HNW market segment of the Distribution Strategy—proposing sales opportunities and initiatives to close gaps and increase market share; assesses sales opportunities with key HNW advisor and firm relationships and proposes long-term strategies to grow Sun Life share of business.</li><li>Talent & Brand Management (10%) Lead and coach a team of training and development professionals to execute on advisor and sales team development programs; actively promote Sun Life brand and community image to attract talent and advisor / firm partners.</li></ul><h3>What you need to succeed</h3><ul><li>Experienced sales leader, working with HNW advisors and firms.</li><li>Intricate knowledge of the HNW advisor sales experience.</li><li>Ability to envision the business strategy to work in the HNW market.</li><li>Quantify market and sales potential.</li><li>Experience in analyzing and solving complex business problems with creativity, critical thinking and strong business and financial acumen.</li><li>Experience leading high performing teams and learning and development professionals.</li><li>Deep understanding of channels, advisor practices and influencing sales teams.</li><li>Highly motivated to support sales goals and growth targets.</li><li>15+ years working with HNW advisors.</li><li>Location-specific requirement: bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec due to managing French and English-speaking staff and providing daily support to the team.</li></ul><h3>What’s in it for you?</h3><ul><li>A competitive salary and bonus program, based on market scale.</li><li>A flexible group insurance program starting on your first day of work to meet your needs and those of your family.</li><li>20 vacation days per year and time off to focus on moments that matter.</li><li>Share Ownership Program with employer matching contributions.</li><li>Recognition as a Great Place to Work in 2025 (Canada).</li><li>A warm, supportive and inclusive culture.</li></ul><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Base Pay : 135,000 - 220,000</li><li>Location : Kitchener, Ontario, Canada</li><li>Posting End Date : 07 / 09 / 2025</li><li>Job Category : Sales - Client Relationship Management</li><li>Employment type : Full-time</li><li>Seniority level : Not Applicable</li><li>Job function : Sales and Business Development</li><li>Industries : Financial Services and Insurance</li></ul><p>We are proud to be a hybrid organization offering the choice to work from the office or virtually.
