Our client is a well-established boutique litigation firm with a diverse and sophisticated practice. The firm focuses on civil litigation, labour and employment law, human rights, Indigenous law, and corporate governance matters.

The team represents a number of Indigenous police services and police service boards, advising on complex workplace, governance, and accountability matters. The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a qualified lawyer with 3–5 years of employment and labour law experience who can confidently manage files and build strong client relationships.

This role is primarily management-side (approximately 85%), with exposure to a range of employment, human rights, administrative, and civil litigation matters. The successful candidate will be integrated into both employment files and broader litigation support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and represent employer clients, including Indigenous police services and police service boards
  • Manage grievances, workplace investigations, and human rights complaints
  • Handle termination matters, negotiate severance packages, and defend wrongful dismissal claims
  • Advise on WSIB matters, return-to-work planning, and workplace accommodations
  • Support collective bargaining processes and labour relations matters
  • Review disclosure, prepare for and attend examinations, hearings, and meetings
  • Draft pleadings, written submissions, and related litigation materials
  • Contribute to civil and administrative law files as required


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in employment and labour law
  • Strong background in WSIB, return-to-work, and related workplace accommodation matters
  • Experience advising primarily on the management side
  • Exposure to collective bargaining and grievance processes
  • Ability to independently manage files and build client relationships
  • Excellent advocacy, drafting, and analytical skills
