You’ll work in a supportive environment that values collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning.<br><br><b>Role Summary:</b><br />We are currently hiring an Afternoons <b>Dispatcher</b> to join our <b>Operations Team in Oakville</b>.  This is a great opportunity for someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done to make a significant contribution in positioning a forward-thinking company to the next level of achievement.  We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cross Border Dispatcher to join our team. As a City/Highway Dispatcher, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a fleet of vehicles, ensuring timely delivery of goods or services.<br><br><b>Hours of Work:</b><br />Monday to Friday, 10:00pm–6:00pm<br /><i>Include any flexibility or predictability (“consistent schedule,” “rotating shifts,”)</i><br><br><b>Work Arrangement:</b><br />On-site <br><br><b>Position Type:</b><br />Non-Union<br><br><b>Employment Status:</b><br />Permanent <br><br><b>Work Location & Environment:</b><br /><i>2789 Bristol Circle, Oakville, On</i><br />Office<p><hr /></p><b>Key Accountabilities:</b><br />In this role, you will:<ul><li>Communicate dispatch information to Drivers</li><li>Monitor and respond to driver’s satellite messages</li><li>Participate in and support driver retention initiatives</li><li>Collaborate with Customer Service and Planning teams to efficiently solve problems</li><li>Maintain fair and equitable distribution of work</li><li>Monitor driver performance and miles</li><li>Coach driver’s regarding customs, hazmat, hours of service, policy, regulations, satellites</li><li>Develop solutions for any driver inquiries</li><li>Update customer websites</li><li>Communicate & problem solve with customers as required</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul> <p><hr /></p><b>Qualifications</b><br />We’re looking for someone who brings:<br /><b>Education & Experience:</b><ul><li>Minimum of 2 years truckload dispatch experience is an asset</li><li>Must have a minimum of 1 year of Customer Service experience</li></ul><br /><b>Skills & Attributes:</b><ul><li>Working knowledge of the North American transportation industry</li><li>ACE and Customs/border crossing experience an asset</li><li>Keen interest in building relationships with your team of drivers and co-workers</li><li>Desire to urgently resolve incidents that occur while driver is delivering their load</li><li>Exhibits a conscious effort to understand the causes instead of just the effects of a situation</li><li>Completes daily tasks autonomously, but enjoys collaborating with others when solving problems</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail</li><li>Good communications skills (written and verbal)</li><li>Intermediate level computer skills and proficient keyboarding</li></ul> <p><hr /></p><b>How To Apply:</b><br />If you’re interested in joining our team, please submit your application through our online career portal.
