ABA Instructor Therapist

Job Description

Job Type: On-Going Part-time, Independent Contractor Position.

Hours: All applicants MUST have availability for a minimum of 4 hours (2 x 2 hr sessions) on weeknights after school. 


Side by Side Therapy is currently looking for skilled individuals to fill contract Instructor Therapist positions in Kleinburg and surrounding areas. Instructor Therapists will work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (or other developmental disabilities) in the children's home while employing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) teaching strategies as directed by a Senior Therapist and RBA.

Successful Candidates Must:

• Possess a minimum of 6 months employment experience as an Instructor Therapist or similar role, implementing ABA procedures as directed by an RBA.
• Implement sessions as directed by the RBA in accordance with the client's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) in the client's home or community.
• Implement feedback from the RBA (or delegate) in a timely manner to improve client outcomes.
• Record and graph data and notes required by the RBA.
• Arrive on time and prepared for all sessions with clients.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, other team members, and the agency.
• Other duties as assigned by the RBA.

Successful Candidates Should Possess:

• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
• Access to a reliable method of transportation.
• A College Diploma or University Degree in a related field.

Additional Assets:

• Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) course completion is an asset.
• Completion of the RBT course or previous registration as an RBT with the BACB.
• ABA/Autism-related Diploma/Certificate is an asset.
• CPR / First Aid certification.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or similar certification).
