<p><p>A boutique law firm in midtown Toronto, in business for over 40 years, specializing in litigation, debt collection and real estate matters.</p><h3>Overview:</h3><p>The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently but be a good team player when needed.</p><p>This position offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive and balanced legal environment. Join us in our commitment to providing exceptional legal services and warm, friendly customer service.</p><p>Please note that this role is for a litigation Law Clerk, and we ask that you do not apply if you are an articling student or have long-term goals to be a lawyer.</p><h3>Role Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Ensuring all physical and electronic court filing.</li><li>Drafting affidavits of service, demand letters and additional correspondence, including other legal documents as needed</li><li>Providing documents and materials on time to meet client needs, including proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness</li><li>Managing scheduling, and handling expense posting to files and billings</li><li>Dealing with and responding to client inquiries, and conducting follow up as required</li><li>Verbal and written communications to opposing parties and lawyers</li></ul><h3>Core Skills & Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Proficiency in file management and organization, including preparing statements of claims and judgements, filing writs, issuing garnishments and preparation of sheriff sale documents</li><li>Working knowledge of court proceedings and preparation of relevant documents, including title search, corporate search, and bankruptcy documents</li><li>Competency in data entry tasks with attention to accuracy and precision</li><li>Extremely efficient and adept organizational skills to manage simultaneous tasks effectively</li><li>Strong grammatical skills, including proofreading, attention to detail and accuracy are a must</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as problem solving skills</li><li>Knowledge and experience with ACL and GhostPractice, as well as familiarity of litigation</li><li>Understands confidentiality of client information</li></ul><h3>Experience:</h3><p>Previous working experience or co-op internship experience is a must (salary negotiable and commensurate with experience)</p><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year</p><h3>Benefits:</h3><ul><li>Extended health care</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul></p>#J-18808-Ljbffr
